Snacking is awesome. Unfortunately, it is easier to snack on a bag of chips than healthy alternatives.
Whole Foods has always been my go-to store for finding healthy snacks. Personally, I define a snack to be healthy if the ingredient list only contains real ingredients, with no added sugar or additives (i.e., artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, sodium nitrite, etc.).
As such, the four snacks I purchased from Whole Foods are healthy in their ingredients and follow this rule. Here they are:
Watermelon Slices
Rating: 7.5/10
As the packaging would suggest, these snacks are chewy and sweet.
They are packaged kind of like fruit rollups – each slice is laid between two pieces of paper.
The only reason this was my least favorite is because I am not usually a huge watermelon fan. However, I would definitely purchase these again. If you like watermelon, you will absolutely like these!
Carrot Sticks
Rating: 8/10
Also made by the brand Rhythm, these carrot sticks are dried and crunchy and somehow chewy at the same time.
I think that these carrots taste slightly like sweet potatoes!
Crunchy Kale
Rating: 9/10
Purchasing something like this is something I wouldn’t normally do, but I’m glad I did!
This “crunchy kale” is a mix of kale, chickpeas, peppers, sunflower seeds, and cashews.
The brand, BRADs, offers five other Crunchy Kale flavorings. I opted for the “Naked” this time, but I will be ordering different flavors in the future.
Each bag was made with 1/2 pound real veggies!
Mango
Rating: 10/10
It’s hard to go wrong with dried mangos.
This Whole Foods brand is amazing. I’ve bought them before and always finish the package within a couple weeks.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these recommendations! Whole Foods is a little pricey, but ordering these brands online is a cheaper route which I will likely be doing in the future.
